How to Sign Up If You're Fundraising for a Team

If you're a parent, coach, or team manager trying to raise funds for a team or group, here's what you need to know upfront:

Option 1: Fundraise Through a Club or Organisation

If your team belongs to a club or association, ask if they are already registered with the ASF.

  • If they are registered: Request your team be set up as a separate fundraising campaign under the club’s account.
  • If they aren’t registered: An authorized club representative (e.g. president, treasurer, fundraising lead) will need to sign the club up first. (Click to eligibility requirements)

This is the preferred and most efficient way for teams to raise funds.

Option 2: Fundraising as an Individual

If your team or group (e.g. dance trio, swim squad, basketball team) isn’t part of a registered club or organisation, then each athlete must:

  • Register an individual ASF account by
  • Choosing "Yourself" (if you're 18+) to raise funds for your own individual sporting journey
  • Choosing "Somebody Else" (if you're registering and raising funds for your child u18)

There is no way to pool funds or create a shared team account unless the team is part of a registered club.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Trying to fundraise as a team without going through a club or organisation
  • Selecting “Yourself”/ “Somebody Else” to set up an account and raise funds on behalf of a team/group
  • Signing up a Club account without the authority to do so
