Why did I receive a tax receipt from the ASF?

If you made a donation to any fundraising project on the ASF website, you are issued with a tax-deductible receipt to the email address you supplied on the donation form.

If you donated directly to your club and not via the project page on the website, there can be an extended time delay between when you donated and when the club transfers the funds to the ASF to process. This means you may receive a tax receipt for a donation you made in the weeks or months prior.

You can use this receipt in your tax-return to claim as a tax deduction - pending you meet the eligible criteria. For some projects and individual fundraisers, where there are clearly identified beneficiaries, the ATO has some restrictions on donations from relatives and associates.
