How to Register a Club or Organisation with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) (Registration Step 1)
Follow these steps to successfully register your club or organization for fundraising with ASF.
Step 1: Start the Registration Process
- Log into the ASF platform.
- From the Home Screen, navigate to the "Create Account" section from the left sidebar. Alternatively, if this is your 1st time logging in, you can click on the "Create Account" Button highlighted in "blue"
- Now, you will be asked to select whom you are fundraising for. Please select "Club or Organization" as the type of entity you are fundraising for, and click "Continue".
- Tip: Please consider the end beneficiary(s) of the donated funds.

Step 2: Enter Organisation Details
- Enter the name of your club or organisation.
- IMPORTANT: The organisation name you enter must closely match the official name linked to your ABN and ACN. Minor variations (e.g., “Temora Football Club” vs. “Temora Australian Football Club”) may be acceptable, however major differences (e.g., “Temora Football Club” vs. “Temora Sports Club”) may trigger a additional checks which may delay your application.
- Select your organisation type from the dropdown menu. The options include:
- Church Group
- Community Group
- Foundation
- Government Organisation/Council
- Grassroots Sports Club
- National Sporting Organisation
- Peak Body
- Primary or Secondary School
- Professional Sporting Organisations
- Regional Sporting Association
- State Sporting Organisation
- University
- Enter your Australian Business Number (ABN).
- TIP: If you are unsure of the the ABN associated with your organisation, you can search for it through the ABN Lookup tool.
- Note: You can only use an ABN and Incorporation Number that belongs to your organisation. Mismatches will delay the application.
- Note: If your organisation doesn’t have an ABN, ASF requires you to apply for one before proceeding. For assistance in obtaining an ABN, please read our guide for applying for an ABN.
- Note: If your organisation is already registered with ASF, an error message will be displayed informing you as such.

Step 3: Verify Your Authority
- From the dropdown, select your position held within the organisation.
- Tick the box to confirm you are authorised to act on behalf of the organization.
- IMPORTANT: If you’re not authorised, you will not be unable to continue with the application. Please contact an authorized representative of your organisation to proceed.
- After entering the organisation's details, click "Continue" to proceed to the eligibility section.

Step 4: Verify Eligibility
- Your ABN details will be pre-populated from the previous screen. You can update these if needed by clicking the “back” button.
- Click the “Verify” button to validate your ABN
- Note: If the validation fails, it may be due to your ABN details do not match official records.
- CONDITIONAL STEP: If your organisation is incorporated, you will be prompted to enter your ACN (Incorporation Number) and click the “Verify” button to validate.

Step 5: Select Sports Type
- Indicate the main type of sport your organisation participates in.
- IMPORTANT: You can select multiple sports.
- Note: If the sports type is not listed, please select “Other” from the dropdown and enter the name of the sport.

Step 6: Agree to The Grant Agreement
- Read the ASF Grant Agreement and agree by ticking the checkbox.
- Note: You will not be able to progress with the application until the ASF Grant Agreement has been agreed to.
- Click "Create Account" to submit your application.
Step 6: Await Approval
- Once submitted, your application will either:
- Be automatically approved if all criteria are met.
- Enter a "Pending Approval" status, requiring additional review by ASF’s Fundraising Support Team. You will receive an email notification once the application has been reviewed.
Eligibility Criteria
To ensure your application is successful:
- Your organisation must have an active ABN.
- You must be authorised to act on behalf of the organisation.
- All provided details (e.g., ABN, incorporation number) must be verifiable and accurate.
